The first adult film to successfully cross over as a cult film phenomena, Cafe Flesh was played at midnight showings in art theaters throughout the 1980s. Director Rinse Dream put his enigmatic stamp on his surrealistic tale of a post-apocolyptic world. His work is now viewed as being cutting edge and very ahead of its time. Pia Snow, the star of the film went on to a successful career as a B-movie actress. Actor/comedian Richard Belzer can be seen as a member of the audience.

Able to exist, to sense... to feel everything but pleasure. In a world destroyed, survivors break down to those who can and those that can't. 99% are Sex Negatives. Call them erotic casualties. They want to make love, but the mere touch of another person makes them violently ill. The rest, the lucky one percent, are Sex Positives, those whose libidos escaped unscathed.
